HYBRID EYELASH EXTENSIONS
So what if you want a little more coverage, but aren’t ready for full Volume? The answer is Hybrid eyelash extensions. This is a blending of both the Classic and Volume eyelash extension techniques. Volume fans and Classic eyelash extensions are intermixed to create a fuller lash line.
If you feel like you have a good amount of lashes, but have some gaps here and there, this mixed technique is perfect. Volume fans will fill in any gaps to create an even lash line. This gives a slightly fluffier appearance to the lashes than straight Classic eyelash extensions.
VOLUME EYELASH EXTENSIONS
This is a more technical technique where the technician takes 2-6 very thin eyelash extensions and makes them into a fan shape before applying to the natural eyelash. What happens when you apply these fans next to each other? You get a dense, fluffy set of lashes.
For those with sparse lashes, when these fans overlap they cover any gaps in the lash line and create an illusion of having more lashes than you actually have. Classic eyelash extensions on a sparse lash line runs the risk of looking “spidery” which is a look none of us want. With Volume eyelash extensions, you can still achieve the look of fuller, darker, more dramatic and longer looking lashes.
We’re adding anywhere from 120-600 lashes per eye!
Now, how can this possibly be safe for your natural eyelashes? It’s the difference in the diameter of the extensions used. A typical Classic eyelash extensions is between 0.10mm and 0.15mm. A typical Volume eyelash extension is between 0.03mm and 0.07mm. Using a thinner, lighter extensions allows for more extensions to be applied to a single lash. Of course, your natural lash length and thickness will determine exactly how big of a fan can be applied. The health and safety of your eyelashes is most important!

How long will my Eyelash Extensions Last?
When properly applied and cared for, your eyelash extensions will last for four to six weeks. Please see the Lash Extension aftercare section on how to properly care for your eyelash extensions to maximize longevity.
What is a fill and how often should I get one?
After your initial set of eyelash extensions you will receive instructions on how to care for them. Fills are done every three to four weeks depending on care and how quickly your eyelashes grow. An eyelash extension fill takes a shorter amount of time to do and the prices reflect that. Eyelash Fills are SO important! We generally lose between 3-5 natural lashes a day , though we do not notice them — However, when you are wearing eyelash extensions, you will become more aware of how many you are shedding. Don’t worry – it’s all part of the natural process our bodies go through on a regular basis.
Why do I lose some of my eyelashes?
Due to the natural growth cycle of your lashes you will find your natural eyelashes shed every 60-90 days as new ones grow in. We recommend getting a fill every two to three weeks to fill in lashes on the new growth.
Will extensions damage my eyelashes?
Yes and no. Yes, your lashes can be damaged if you go to someone who was not properly trained and uses cheap products not intended for long wear. No, extensions properly applied by a certified, trained technician who uses quality products should not. Our eyelash extension application techniques and innovative aftercare ensures your lash health.
A friend of mine is allergic to the products, is this common?
True allergic reactions do happen, but are rare. If you have developed an allergic reaction you may still wear extensions with some changes made to the aftercare process. What is more common is eye infection due to improperly washing and caring for your lashes. Waiting 24 hours to wash lashes and not washing your eyelashes the entire time you wear them are the most common causes of infections. Imagine not washing the hair on your head for weeks or months?
This is the most common reason wearers lose their lashes prematurely.
Can I use eyelash growth products with my extensions?
Lash growth products that contain steroids change the composition of your lashes and accelerate your eyelash shedding cycle, therefore we cannot guarantee the outcome. Natural lash growth products containing peptides are wonderful and will have no adverse effect on the longevity of your extensions.
Will I still need to use mascara?
NO, you will not need to use mascara with your lash extensions, but for nights that you want extra drama you can use a water-based mascara. We carry several brands to choose from. We also offer a service to add a semi-permanent mascara that lasts seven to ten days. See the aftercare section below for tips on using mascara.
After Care
Now that you have lush lashes take note of these tips to maintain them. With proper care and fills your eyelashes can last indefinitely.
Do not get your eyelashes wet for the first two hours.
Do not use a spa, sauna or pool for the first 24 hours. The extensions need that amount of time to properly bond.
Avoid pulling or rubbing your eyes.
Do not use eyelash curlers with your extensions. With proper application you will not need them.
ONLY use oil-free makeup remover. We carry several brands in our studio and also provide clients with a do-it-yourself eyelash wash.
If your eyelashes are tangled or crossed over, use the Spoolie given to you during your appointment to gently brush them straight and put them in place.
Proper hygiene is very important. Please keep lashes clean by regular washing. We have a special foaming lash bath eyelash cleanser available in our salon.
Use only mascaras that are safe for eyelash extensions, no oil-based or waterproof mascaras. We have extension safe mascaras available for purchase at your appointment, or online. Only apply the mascara to the tips of your lashes.
After showering avoid rubbing lashes, it best to blot them with a towel and let them air dry.
Use care when applying facial and eye creams to avoid the lash line. Too many oil-based products can break down the adhesive.
